Why is this role important?
The Assistant Manager / Manager, Internal Audit plays a key role in ensuring the effectiveness of SadaPay’s internal controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance. This role involves conducting internal audits, assessing business processes, and identifying control weaknesses while ensuring adherence to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulations. The role requires a detail-oriented and analytical approach, working closely with the Head of Internal Audit to strengthen SadaPay’s risk and compliance framework.
As a Sadanaut you will:
- Audit Planning & Execution
- Assist in the development and execution of a risk-based internal audit plan.
- Conduct internal audits across various departments, evaluating operational, financial, and compliance risks.
- Identify weaknesses in internal controls and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure timely follow-ups on audit findings and track the implementation of corrective actions.
- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with SadaPay’s internal policies, SBP regulations, and relevant financial laws.
- Conduct risk assessments and internal control evaluations to mitigate operational and financial risks.
- Provide insights to enhance regulatory compliance and proactively address potential risks.
- Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risk assessments, and recommended actions.
- Communicate audit findings to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Internal Audit in preparing materials for Audit Committee meetings.
- Work closely with external auditors and regulatory authorities to facilitate audits and inspections.
- Process Improvement & Best Practices
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and internal processes.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging risks in the fintech and banking sectors.
- Provide training and awareness sessions to internal teams on risk management and compliance.
What it takes to become a Sadanaut:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A graduate degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Professional Certification: CA, ACCA, CIA, CICA or equivalent is plus.
- More than 6 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in Internal Audit/Compliance role within the banking or fintech sector in Pakistan. Strong familiarity with SBP regulations and best practices in internal audit is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate audit findings and risk management strategies to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators, particularly the SBP.
