Why is this role important?
At SadaPay, ensuring both a great employee experience and accurate, compliant payroll is critical to building trust with our Sadanauts. This role plays a central part in supporting employees across their entire lifecycle, while ensuring they are paid correctly, on time, and in line with regulatory requirements.
The People Experience & Payroll Specialist acts as a key point of contact for employees, balancing operational excellence with empathy. This role directly impacts engagement, satisfaction, compliance, and overall trust in the People & Culture function.
As a Sadanaut you will:
- People Experience & Operations
- Support employees across the full lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, probation, immigration, relocation, and day-to-day People Operations.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and requests, responding with empathy, clarity, and timely follow-through.
- Champion SadaPay’s culture and values, ensuring employees feel supported, heard, and included.
- Create and maintain clear, engaging internal communications using simple, conversational, and inclusive language.
- Guide employees on People Operations policies, processes, and protocols, ensuring consistency and transparency.
- Partner with the Admin & Procurement team to coordinate employee gifts and moments that matter (birthdays, weddings, childbirth, and other life milestones).
- Collect and analyze employee feedback, supporting initiatives that continuously improve the overall employee experience.
- Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
- Own end-to-end monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely disbursement.
- Maintain payroll records, including tax deductions, bonuses, commissions, benefits, and statutory contributions.
- Respond to employee queries related to pay slips, tax calculations, benefits, and reimbursements.
- Partner closely with Finance on payroll processing, reimbursements, invoicing, and year-end activities.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, social security contributions, and statutory requirements, including Income Tax, EOBI, and Provident Fund filings.
- Conduct regular payroll checks and reconciliations to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with external vendors for insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefit programs.
- Data, Documentation & Audits
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, trackers, and databases across People systems.
- Ensure documentation is well-structured, accessible, and audit-ready at all times.
- Prepare and maintain monthly HR metrics, payroll summaries, and budget reports.
- Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate data and documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data consistency and integrity across People, Finance, and other systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardization of People Operations and payroll processes to drive efficiency and scale.

What it takes to become a Sadanaut:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience across payroll, HR operations, or people experience roles.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a strong focus on empathy and employee support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a passion for improving employee experience.
