Why is this role important?
SadaPay is one of Pakistan's leading digital wallets. Our engineering team is small and runs at high leverage: every engineer owns real surface area and ships outcomes, not tickets. We work in a Kotlin/Spring service monorepo, a Flutter app, and Next.js operational tooling, and we lean hard on AI to move faster than a team our size usually can. We want a Senior Product Engineer who is backend-anchored and happiest owning a problem end to end, from the service layer to the operational UI to the screen the customer actually taps. You'll work across the whole product, make the product calls, and ship.
As a Sadanaut you will:
- Own slices end to end: Take a feature from a Kotlin/Spring service, through its admin and ops UI, into the app.
- Build the backend: Clean, correctness-critical services in our core/monorepo.
- Work across the stack yourself: Extend the Next.js control modules and include them in the Flutter app wherever your slice needs them. There's no separate front-end or mobile team to hand off to; a product engineer owns every layer of their slice.
- Use AI coding agents daily: Tools like Claude and Cursor are how you write, review, and ship code here, not an occasional helper you reach for now and then.
- Make the calls: Decide what's worth building, push back on scope, and keep your eye on the customer outcome.
- Hold the quality bar through code review: Written RFCs and ADRs, and AI-assisted checks rather than process walls.
What it takes to become a Sadanaut:
- Senior backend chops. Strong in Kotlin/Spring, or a typed/JVM background that transfers cleanly. You've owned production services hands-on.
- End-to-end ownership. You've shipped features all the way to users and made the trade-offs along the way.
- You already ship with AI coding agents. You can walk us through a real workflow you use day to day, not a demo. This is how we work; it isn't optional.
- Care with critical systems. Money, user data, and the awkward edge cases get handled carefully.
Strong pluses:
- Mobile: Flutter ideally, or native iOS/Android that transfers.
- Web: Next.js / React for ops and admin tooling.
- Fintech, payments, or other regulated systems. It shortens your ramp.
- Comfortable in our CI and cloud setup (AWS/Terraform). You won't own infra, but you'll touch it.
