We always knew building SadaPay was going to be a long, complicated and challenging process. ? While most companies work on their products in isolation before launching, we decided that we wanted to engage with the people we are building this for. The focus for our product decisions would be on solving your problems. Also, it was important for us to include our earliest believers as a part of this journey. To make all of this possible, we launched a waitlist for the public about a year ago.
We were overwhelmed by the incredible response! ? Every day, we have more and more people joining our waitlist and using their referral codes to invite friends to join. Waitlists are a new concept in Pakistan and one of the most popular questions we get through our socials and contact forms is how exactly our waitlist works. So we decided to provide a ‘Sada’ explanation for anyone still confused about why we built a waitlist in the first place!
Building a financial institution is no walk in the park. There is a lot of regulation we have to navigate and operational processes we have to set up. Since we’re going to be dealing with people’s finances, we want to ensure that everything is running smoothly and securely on our end before we officially launch to the public. ? Knowing all this would take time, we decided to create a waitlist in 2019 which would allow people to reserve their place in line for a SadaPay debit card, while also letting people spread the word about SadaPay.
As soon as you sign up, you are assigned a position on the waitlist. You can check your position on the waitlist by downloading the SadaPay waitlist app using invite.sadapay.pk from your phone.
In addition to showing you your position in the queue, the app also lets you invite your friends for a free debit card. Doing this will allow you to skip the queue (meaning you can get your teal and peach card sooner! ?). The app tells you the number of positions you’ll move forward on the queue if you invite ‘X’ number of friends.
If you invite at least 10 of your friends, you automatically become a member of our Founder’s Club – meaning you get a limited-edition black debit card ⚫ as well as special perks (which we’ll be announcing soon!) This premium card will only be given to our earliest supporters as they helped us grow right from the very start. They will always have a special place in our hearts! ?
It’s important to remember that there are people who are equally enthusiastic about moving ahead in the queue and may be inviting more people than you. Because of this, it may seem as though other people are still moving ahead quicker than you. Rest assured, this is only because they have more invites. Inviting your friends and family would definitely help you keep up with the competition for earlier access to our debit card (it is completely optional though as everyone on the waitlist would eventually get their cards after the public roll-out). ?
If this all seems overwhelming, just remember that once beta-testing, SBP pilot and regulatory approvals are out of the way, we’ll reach out to everyone soon enough, to have them complete their registrations. We’re really looking forward to everyone getting their fresh debit cards, and we hope that you’re also looking forward to receiving them! ? We know the wait has been long and some people are frustrated, but for us, delivering a great experience is priority and that is a compromise we’ll never make.
If you have any more questions, please get in touch with us through socials or by email – we’d love to talk to you! ?
